# Moving from your old practice software
## How to move your clients, appointments and notes from your old practice software to HealthBank.
Our team can move your client data across from your old practice software for you, for FREE. We take care of the move, and you check everything before you switch off your old system.
**What we can move**
We move practices from Cliniko, SimpleClinic, Best Practice, Splose and Halaxy.
We migrate all client information, data and attachments associated with your client's file. Everything will be migrated over.
**Before you start**
- Finish or export any open invoices and claims in your old system.
- Tell us when you'd like to switch over, so we can plan around your appointments.
**How it works**
1. **Contact us** through chat or the Submit a request form and tell us which software you're moving from.
2. **We take care of the move.** We'll let you know if we need anything from you.
3. **We move your data.** Depending on the total number of clients you have, a typical migration time will take 48-72 hours to complete. We'll let you know when it's done.
4. **Check a few records.** Open five or six clients and make sure their details, appointments and notes look right.
**After the move**
- Connect your calendar so you don't double-book. (see [How do I sync my calendar?](https://help.healthbank.io/how-do-i-sync-my-google-calendar-to-my-healthbank-calendar?hsLang=en))
- Send clients your new booking link and let them know they'll get HealthBank reminders.
- Check your calendar and availability are set up before clients start booking.
**Cancelling your old software:** keep it until you've checked everything. Download any records you're legally required to keep before you close the account; most professions require records to be kept for at least seven years.
