# How do I set up my appointment types and prices?
## Go to Settings, then Services, then Appointments. Select +, enter the appointment name, price, duration and attendance mode, then save.
Your appointment types are the services clients can book with you, such as an initial consultation, a follow-up or a review. Each one has its own name, price, length and attendance mode, and you can attach a form to it.
### Add an appointment type
1. Click **Settings**.
2. Click **Services**, then **Appointments**.
3. Click the **+** symbol.
4. Fill in the details (see below).
5. Click **Save**.
Clients can now choose this appointment type when they book with you.
### The appointment details
- **Profession:** the profession this appointment is for.
- **Appointment name:** what clients see, for example "Initial consultation" or "Follow up".
- **Appointment description:** what clients can expect during the appointment.
- **Item Code:** the billing code for the service, for example a Medicare or private health item number.
- **Attendance mode:** choose **Online**, **Phone** or **In Person**.
- **This is a free appointment:** turn this on for appointments you don't charge for, such as a free discovery call.
- **Price:** what you charge. If you're registered for GST, turn on GST in your business settings.
- **Duration (mins):** how long the appointment runs.
- **Hidden from public view:** turn this on if you only want to book this appointment yourself, so clients can't book it from your listing.

- **Attach a form or questionnaire:** your clients automatically receive this form when the appointment is booked. See [How do I attach a form to an appointment type?](https://help.healthbank.io/creating-a-form-and-attaching-it-to-appointments?hsLang=en)
### Change an appointment type
Click the appointment type in **Settings** \> **Services** \> **Appointments**, update the details and click **Save**.
Changes, including price changes, only apply to new bookings. Appointments that are already booked aren't affected.
### Tips
- Price by session length, for example a 60-minute initial consultation and 45-minute follow-ups, each with its own price.
- Discovery calls are free for clients. HealthBank waives the booking fee for discovery consultations.
